Sophomore Ellen Szostak nearly broke her own school record in the 400 and five other Foresters also ran in the Carthage Final Qualifier on Friday.

Szostak completed two laps around the track in 1:05.32 and finished in the field. She missed matching the school record she set two weeks ago by just .08 seconds.

Fellow sophomore Lea Burshtein was the only other member of the Forester women's team at the meet and she placed eighth in the 200 in 30.72 seconds.

Seniors David Carrillo and Sam Barton posted career-best times in their final indoor meet. Carrillo was ninth in the 800 and his time of 2:03.82 placed him third in program history while Barton's 4:46.56 in the mile moved him up a spot to fourth in team annals in that event. Sophomore Nathaniel Bodnar also competed in the mile, finishing in 4:58.73, and freshman Christian Reyes was sixth in the 3000 in 9:40.17.

A pair of Foresters are slated to compete in the Pointer Final Qualifier at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Saturday.
