The 2018-19 season is the second for Nathan Lightman as the Foresters’ diving coach.

Under Lightman's direction, Forester Heath Ogawa was named NCAA Division III Diver of the Year by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America after capturing a national title in 3-meter diving and finishing third in the country off the 1-meter board. He also earned his second consecutive Midwest Conference Diver of the Year award and broke three of the program's four diving records. In addition, Lizzie Johns claimed a conference title in the 1-meter competition and qualified for the NCAA Division III Regional Meet.

Since graduating from Denison University in 2016, Lightman has been coaching diving at the high school and club level. In addition to serving as the head diving coach at Vernon Hills High School and Warren Township High School, he is also the co-head coach at Cougar Diving Academy. In his first year of coaching, Lightman had one diver advance to the Illinois State Meet and three qualify for the USA Diving Zones Championship.

While at Dension, Lightman qualified for a pair of NCAA Division III Championship Meets and made three appearances at the NCAA Division III Regional Meets. He helped Denison claim three North Coast Athletic Conference titles and was a member of the team that captured a national championship in 2016.

He lives in nearby Libertyville, Illinois.
