Women Come Up Big Against IIT, Men Fall to Scarlet Hawks

The Lake Forest College swimming and diving team competed at the Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday. The women's team won against the host team while the men lost.

Freshman Megan Dodrill helped the Foresters score big points by winning the 200-Freestyle and combining with seniors Violet Anderson and Sophie Hansen and sophomore Capri Kalvelage to win the 200-Freestyle Relay. Anderson won her individual event as well, the 100-Butterfly.

Also winning their individual events were freshman Amelie Andres (500-Free), sophomore Sylvie Paddon-Jones (50-Free), junior Ally McCarthy (200-IM), and senior Helena Blumenau (100-Back).

Junior diver Ceylin Sahin took the top place on the 1-meter boards.

Senior Sebastian Wagoner led the men's team, winning the 1000-Freestyle to open the meet. Freshman Alexander Wilson claimed the fastest time in the 50-Freestyle, and his fellow freshman Andrew Lee won the 200-IM. Sophomores Ben Jacob and Noah McAdam combined to win the 100-Butterfly and 100-Backstroke, respectively.

The Forester women defeated the Scarlet Hawks 138-72. The Lake Forest men lost 125-95.

The Foresters will compete at home next Saturday, February 4 at 1 p.m. against St. Norbert College. It will be the last meet of the season before the conference championships and will be the team's senior day.
