Junior Ally McCarthy helped lead the Lake Forest College women's swimming and diving team to a runner-up finish at the Illinois-Michigan Quadrangular meet on Saturday. The Forester men finished fourth.

McCarthy won a pair of individual events, touching the wall first in the 1000-freestyle and then topping the podium in the 500-freestyle. McCarthy's fellow junior Ella Burns finished third in the same events.

Senior Helena Blumenau added the team's point total with her second-place finish in the 200-backstroke and her third-place finish in the 200-freestyle. Her fellow senior Violet Anderson was runner-up in the 200-butterfly as was freshman Amelie Andres in the 200-breaststroke. Freshman Valeria Welk was third to stop the clock in the 100-freestyle.

For the men, sophomore Noah McAdam was second overall in the 200-backstroke. He combined with senior Justin Fugiel and freshmen Alexander Wilson and Demetri Zemenides for the 400-freestyle relay, which placed third overall.
