Foresters Triumph Over IIT

The Lake Forest College men's swimming and diving team prevailed over Illinois Institute of Technology in a tightly contested meet, while the women's team dominated the Scarlet Hawks on Saturday.

Senior Alec Pittman was the first on the men's team to win an event when he touched first in the 800-Freestyle. He also went on to win the 400-Freestyle later in the meet.

Freshman Tucker Potts also earned significant points for his team when he won his two individual events: the 200-IM and the 100-Breaststroke.

The men's team clinched the win with a triumphant 200-Freestyle Relay when freshman Ben Jacob, sophomore Ollie Land, and seniors Max Rowland and Graeme Witte combined to out touch the Scarlet Hawk relay.

The women won all their events but the 200-IM, overtaking the IIT women early in the meet. Sophomore Sarah McField, juniors Helena Blumenau and Violet Anderson, and senior Kerry Mullen combined to give the Foresters the first win of the meet in the 200-Medley Relay. Anderson, Blumenau, and Mullen were joined by senior Kylie Morgan to win the 200-Freestyle Relay, capping off a strong showing for the women's team.

Winning multiple individual events was sophomore Ally McCarthy, who finished first in the 800-Freestyle and the 100-Breaststroke.

The Foresters compete again on Saturday, February 5 at St. Norbert College. This will be their final meet of the season before the Conference Championship.
