Alec Pittman Earns Honorable Mention Scholar All-America Status

On Wednesday, Lake Forest College swimmer sophomore Alec Pittman was recognized by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) for his academic and athletic accomplishments in the 2019-20 season.

Pittman was named Honorable Mention Scholar All-America after recording a GPA above 3.50 and posting a time that made him eligible for selection to the NCAA Division III National Championship Meet. Pittman won the 1650-yard freestyle with an NCAA B-Cut time of 16:10.77 at the Midwest Conference Championship meet in February. His time is also a new school record.

The CSCAA named 1,479 swimmers and divers to Scholar All-American Team for the 2019-20 season. The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championship. Selections were drawn from 209 colleges and universities.

This is the first time that Pittman has earned this distinction.
