Violet Anderson Earns Forester Athlete of the Week Honors

Freshman Violet Anderson was named the Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after winning multiple events at the Midwest Conference Championship. Her performances were vitally impactful to winning the conference title for the women's team and helped produce the highest total point output at the conference championship in program history.

Anderson went three for three in her individual events over the three-day meet. She won the 200 IM with a 2:09.11, a time that places her third in program history. Her 56.67 in the 100 Butterfly shattered the previous school record and tied the conference and meet record. She also broke the school record in the 200 Butterfly; the new mark is now set at 2:06.61.

Anderson was an important contributor on the relays as well. She swam the second fastest split on the school and conference record-breaking 200 Free Relay. Her 100 Fly leg on the 400 Medley Relay was faster than the time she posted in the individual event. She contributed the second place 800 Free Relay and anchored the winning 400 Free Relay with the fastest split.

Because of her impressive performance at the meet, Anderson was named the Women's Outstanding Swimmer of the Year for the Midwest Conference.
