Lake Forest College swimmer Susan Guo was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after leading Lake Forest to a victory at Saturday's four-team Monmouth College Invite.
Guo contributed to four victories on the day, beginning with the meet's opening event, the 200-medley relay. Thanks in part to Guo's butterfly leg, the Foresters posted a time of 1:55.78 and finished first by more than two-and-a-half seconds.
The first individual event of the contest was the 200-freestyle, which Guo won by nearly two seconds in 2:04.57. She then added another triumph in the 100-butterfly, where her time of 1:02.92 was just 0.17 seconds faster than the runner-up.
Lake Forest closed out the meet by winning the 400-freestyle relay by nearly five seconds. Guo swam the third leg and the Forester foursome finished in 3:49.37.
With 138 points, Lake Forest edged out Grinnell College by just 19 for the team title.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursday.
