Lake Forest College swimmer Susan Guo was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after contributing to victories in four events and leading the Foresters to a first-place finish at Saturday's Monmouth College Invite.
Guo swam the butterfly leg of Lake Forest's 200-medley relay, which won the first event of the meet in 1:55.78, more than two-and-a-half seconds ahead of runner-up Grinnell College.
Returning to the pool for the first individual event, Guo touched the wall first by nearly two seconds in the 200-freestyle, which she completed in 2:04.57. The junior also prevailed in the 100-butterfly, although this time her clocking of 1:02.92 was just 0.17 seconds faster than second place.
With Guo swimming third, the Forester 400-freestyle relay team closed out the meet with a time of 3:49.37 and a victory by nearly five seconds.
Lake Forest's 138 points edged out Grinnell's 119 to win the four-team competition.
MWC performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Guo also earned the award once during her freshman season.
