A day after winning the 3-meter event, Lake Forest College senior Heath Ogawa placed third off the 1-meter board Saturday at the NCAA Division III Region 1 Diving Meet, which was hosted by Wabash College.
Ogawa finished with 469.15 points, just 21 shy of earning his second victory of the two-day competition to determine one-fourth of the 24-man field at the 2019 NCAA Championships. The defending Division III Diver of the Year will now make his fourth appearance at the four-day national meet, which begins on Wednesday, March 20, at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, North Carolina.
The men's 1-meter diving event at the NCAA Championships will be contested on Thursday, March 21, and the 3-meter competition will occur two days later.
