Lake Forest College diver Lizzie Johns was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in the team's 142-71 victory over visiting Illinois Institute of Technology on Saturday.
Johns won both diving events with career-best scores, beginning with a 246.80-point tally in the 1-meter competition. The defending conference champion in that event's previous career-high was 243.45 points, set against Illinois Tech almost exactly two years earlier. The junior also finished with 233.90 points off the 3-meter board, 22.40 more than her previous best.
Johns and the other Forester divers will take on NCAA Division I competition at the UIC Diving Invitational this Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. She is the first member of the Forester women's team to earn the award this season.
