Heath Ogawa Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College diver Heath Ogawa was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after winning three times and breaking a conference record over the weekend.

Ogawa swept the diving events in Saturday's Gene Davis Invitational at Lawrence University and the Forester men finished first at the seven-team event. After taking the 3-meter competition with 541.10 points, the senior tallied a school and conference record 575.80 points off the 1-meter board. He had set the previous mark with 567.70 at last year's MWC Championships.

Lake Forest also competed on the third and final day of the University of Chicago's Phoenix Fall Classic on Sunday. Ogawa collected another victory in the 1-meter event with 462.65 points, nearly 84 more than the runner-up.

Ogawa, who was named 2018 Division III Diver of the Year by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America, has won six times in as many events so far this season.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Ogawa has now earned the award nine times in his career.
