Lake Forest College swimmer Nathan Ulm was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance at Saturday's Monmouth Invite.
Ulm prevailed in back-to-back events by less than a half-second combined at the four-team competition. His margin of victory in the 50-freestyle, which he won with a time of 22.91, was just .07 seconds. The next event was the 100-butterfly, which Ulm took in 55.16 seconds, .38 ahead of the runner-up and the second-fastest time in the conference so far this season.
In addition to his individual event triumphs, Ulm helped the Foresters' 200-medley relay place third in 1:42.95 and the 200-freestyle relay finish second with a time of 3:22.23.
Lake Forest won the meet with 126 points, two more than runner-up Grinnell College.
