Freshmen Graeme Witte and Jeffrey Nebel contributed to a combined six victories to help lead the Forester men's swimming and diving team to a 121-55 victory over visiting Carroll University on Saturday. The Pioneers came out on top of a 127-110 decision on the women's side.

Witte led off for Lake Forest's victorious 200m-medley relay team and was followed by sophomores Ryan Casseday and Thomas Anderson and freshman Alex Pittman. They finished with a time of 1:55.72, edging out another quartet of Foresters. Witte added individual event triumphs in the 200m-IM (2:20.33) and 100m-backstroke (1:04.58).

Nebel proved to be the top swimmer in the distance events, prevailing in the 800m-freestlye in 9:32.46 and the 400m-freestyle in 4:34.50. He also anchored the final race of the day, the 200m-freestyle relay, which Lake Forest won with a time of 1:43.90. Preceding Nebel on the relay were senior Blake Rhodes and sophomores Max Rowland and Nathan Ulm.

Roland, Ulm, and Casseday added victories of their own in the 200m-freestyle (2:01.72) 50m-freestyle (25.97), and 100m-breaststroke (1:12.86), respectively. Sophomore Evan Weller's time of 1:01.86 was good for first place in the 100m-butterfly and freshman Sebastian Wagoner took the 100m-freestyle in 56.58 seconds. Senior diver Heath Ogawa scored 308.10 points off the 1-meter board and 335.60 in the 3-meter event as the Lake Forest men posted victories in every event.

Carroll took the first three events on the women's side but had that run ended by Forester freshman Kerry Mullen, who won the 50m-freestyle in 28.82 seconds. Junior Rachel Trevillian finished first the 200m-IM in 2:36.62 and, after classmate Lizzie Johns edged out the Pioneers' top diver with a score of 224.60 in the 1-meter competition, prevailed again with a time of 1:09.14 in the 100m-butterfly. Freshman Sarah Burchart extended the home team's winning streak to five events by taking the 100m-freestyle in 1:03.80 but Carroll responded with four victories in a row to clinch the team triumph. Burchart, sophomore Fallon Longfield, freshman Kylie Morgan, and Mullen closed out the competition with a victory and time of 1:43.90 in the 200m-freestyle relay.

The Forester men are now 1-1 and the women 0-2 in dual mets so far this season. Carroll's women are 2-1 and the men 0-3.

Lake Forest will travel south for the Monmouth Invite next Saturday. The first event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
