Lake Forest College diver Heath Ogawa was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday after winning both of his events at the Illinois-Michigan Quadrangular at Hope College on Saturday.

Ogawa, a junior, posted a score of 304.55 in the 1-meter diving competition to finish first by nearly 31 points. He also prevailed off the 3-meter board, where his 328.60 points were 80 more than the runner-up.

The victories were the eighth and ninth in as many events this season for Ogawa, who has already qualified to compete in the NCAA Division III Regional Meet at the University of Chicago March 2-3. He advanced to the NCAA Division III Championships at the end of his freshman and sophomore seasons.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's director of media and information. Ogawa has now earned the award twice in each of his three years at the College.
