CollegeSwimming.com Names Max Rowland its MWC Swimmer of the Week

CollegeSwimming.com released its conference swimmers of the week Tuesday night and Lake Forest College's Max Rowland was listed for the Midwest Conference.

Rowland, a freshman, posted the fastest times in the conference so far this season in the three longest events at last weekend's A3 Carthage College Classic. He finished third in the 1650-freestyle on Thursday and his lifetime-best time of 16:41.02 leads the league by 40 seconds. Rowland was also sixth in the 500-freestyle in 4:52.51 on Friday and 8th in Saturday's 400-IM with a time of 4:19.47. Both marks are conference-bests so far this year and his 200-IM time of 2:06.67 in the prelims on Friday ranks fifth in the league. Rowland earned 101 points at the meet, the eighth-highest total of any male swimmer in the competition.

Lake Forest placed fourth with 1,024 points at the 10-team event.

CollegeSwimming.com's selections are independent of those made by each conference. Winners are selected from results submitted by Midnight EST each Monday. Rowland also earned the honor two weeks ago for his performance at Lawrence University's Gene Davis Invitational on November 18 and the Universty of Chicago's Phoenix Fall Classic the next day.
