Lake Forest Joins Phoenix Fall Classic on Final Day

Junior Heath Ogawa prevailed in the 1-meter diving competition on Sunday as part of the Foresters' participation on the third and final day of the University of Chicago's Phoenix Fall Classic.

Ogawa tallied 509.80 points in his 11 dives, 56 more than the runner-up. He has now finished first in each of his seven events this season.

Sophomore Lizzie Johns was the Foresters' top diver on the women's side, placing eighth off the 3-meter board with 334.40 points.

Lake Forest's best performance in the swimming events was turned in by freshman Susan Guo, who was 13th in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:00.28.

The Foresters also earned points in the 400-freestyle relay, where Guo followed fellow freshmen Corynn Christjansen and Sarah Truxton and sophomore Kelsey Mitchell. Their time of 3:51.32 was good for 14th place at the meet. On the men's side freshmen Ethan Hare and Nathan Ulm and seniors Landon Longfield and David Bunting were also 14th in 3:20.04.

Next up on Lake Forest's schedule is the Carthage Classic in two weekends. The team's final meet of the fall semester will begin on Thursday, November 30, and conclude on Saturday, December 2.
