Heath Ogawa Finishes 15th in the Nation in 1M Diving

Sophomore Heath Ogawa earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades by placing 15th in the 1-meter diving competition at the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championships on Thursday.

Ogawa finished with 423.75 points and his highest-scoring dive of the day was his sixth, a forward, two-and-a-half sommersault in the pike position that earned him 55.90 points and lifted him into sixth place at the time.

The top eight divers are named Alll-American and the next eight Honorable Mention All-American. Ogawa has now placed in the top 16 three times in as many events at the last two NCAA Championship Meets. He finished eighth off the 1-meter board and 13th in the 3-meter competition last season.

This year's 3-meter event will occur on Saturday and Ogawa will be in the 24-diver field.
