Junior Matt Demirs, sophomore Heath Ogawa, and freshman Lizzie Johns joined six divers from Hope College in a competition at Lake Forest College on Saturday.

While the swimmers from each school were competing in the Illinois-Michigan Quadrangular at Wheaton College, the divers were performing 11 dives off each board in Lake Forest.

Ogawa won the men's 1-meter event with 469.65 points, 48 more than the runner-up from Hope. Demirs was fifth with a score of 354.40.

Ogawa's 450.50 points off the 3-meter board were good for second place, less than nine points shy of the winner. Demirs was fifth again with 380.05.

Both of Ogawa's scores met the standard for participation at the NCAA Division III Regional Diving Meet.

Johns was the runner-up off both boards earning 375.50 points in the 1-meter competition and 335.50 in the 3-meter event.

The Forester swmmers and divers will host a double-dual meet with Lawrence University and the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater next Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
