Becky Shaak Earns Fifth Career MWC Performer of the Week Award

Lake Forest College swimmer Becky Shaak was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in the Foresters' double-dual victories over Willamette University and host Soka University of America on Saturday.

Shaak and teammates Loren Dutca, Kelsie Miller, and Kelsey Hoeper began the meet by winning the 200-medley relay in 2:00.56.

Shaak also placed first in the 100-butterfly with a time of 1:06.86 and touched the wall first in the 100-breaststroke in 1:11.34.

Shaak has now won all five of her individual events in dual meets this season. She owns the fastest times in the conference in the 200-freestyle, 1650-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, 200-IM, and 400-IM. She also ranks first on the team in the 1000-freestyle and 100-breaststroke.

Midwest Conference Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Shaak also earned the award once last year and three times as a freshman.
