Challe and Chrisman Sweep MWC Performer of the Week Awards

Lake Forest College softball players Brooke Challe and Elena Chrisman were named Midwest Conference Pitcher and Position Performer of the Week, respectively, on Monday. They helped the Foresters post a 4-0 record in league play last week.

Challe allowed just one run in eight innings in the circle. The sophomore surrendered just three base hits while blanking Lawrence 10-0 in five innings in Wednesday's doubleheader opener. She also limited Monmouth to a run on just a pair of hits in the first three innings of Sunday's 12-3 game two triumph. Challe struck out five batters in the two games combined.

In 11 appearances this season, including four starts, Challe is 3-0 with two shutouts, two saves, and a 1.22 earned run average. Opponents are batting just .219 against her.

Chrisman was 6-for-11 with three home runs, two doubles, three walks, a 2.188 OPS, eight runs scored and seven driven in last week. The senior right fielder belted leadoff homers in both of Challe's starts and had at least one run, hit, and run batted in during each of the team's four games.

After belting home runs in five of the last seven contests and extending her hitting streak to nine games, Chrisman is batting .382 and leading the team with 35 runs batted in and a .645 slugging percentage.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Chrisman also earned the award last week.
