For her performances in last week's games against Illinois Wesleyan University and Washington University of St. Louis, softball's Josie Klein was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Tuesday.
The senior outfielder reached base safely in 13 of 15 plate appearances against both teams faced. She was 4-for-4 with a triple and three runs scored in the opener against Illinois Wesleyan on Tuesday. She belted a two-run homer in the first inning of game two and was walked in each of her last three trips to the plate that day.
Klein went 1-for-2 in each half of Wednesday's doubleheader split with Washington-St. Louis. She also drew three more walks on the day, including an intentional pass.
Forester Athletes of the Week are voted for by the athletic department on Tuesdays.
