The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced the 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District® Softball Team on Thursday and Lake Forest College's Shaye Gauthier was among the honorees.

Gauthier is a career .350 hitter with four home runs, 43 runs batted in, and a .415 on-base percentage during her three years at the College. The junior also owns a 12-4 record, 2.68 earned run average, and 62 strikeouts in 112.1 innings as a pitcher. Most of her time has been spent at second base and her Academic All-District® selection came as an infielder.

Gauthier earned Second Team All-Midwest Conference honors as a freshman and sophomore and helped lead the Foresters to a conference title in each of those seasons. Her two-out, two-run walkoff home run in the championship game of the 2019 MWC Tournament gave Lake Forest a 5-4 victory and sent the team to the NCAA Division III Tournament, where she earned Regional All-Tournament Team honors.

Successful in the classroom as well, Gauthier was named Academic All-MWC after each of her first two years at the College and is expected to be included when the league announces its 2019-20 honorees in July. She was the also recipient of the 2019 MWC Elite 20 Award, which is presented to the player at the four-team league tournament with the highest cumulative grade point average, which for her is still 4.0.

Gauthier will now appear on the Academic All-America® ballot with that team scheduled to be announced on June 9.
