Sydney Wyatt Named MWC Position Player of the Week

Lake Forest College softball player Sydney Wyatt was named Midwest Conference Position Player of the Week on Monday after batting .484 as her team split 10 games in Florida last week.

Wyatt was 15-for-31 at the plate with at least one hit in each of her eight starts. The senior catcher belted three doubles and a pair of home runs, including a grand slam. She also scored nine runs and drove in a team-high 12 from her leadoff spot in the lineup.

Also a standout defensively, Wyatt threw out six baserunners attempting to steal and picked another off third base. She committed just one error and posted a .973 fielding percentage for the week.

Wyatt finished her fourth year as a Forester with a team-high .481 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, .667 slugging percentage, 17 runs scored, and 20 RBI. 

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Wyatt also earned the award once during her sophomore season.
