Lake Forest College softball player Missy Dieckman-Meyer was named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday for her performance in a pair of complete game victories last week.
Dieckman-Meyer pitched the Foresters' season opener, a 12-5 triumph over Concordia University Chicago at The Dome in Rosemont, Illinois, on Thursday. The senior allowed just one earned run and three base hits while striking out five batters in the contest.
Lake Forest defeated Buena Vista University 3-1 at The Dome on Saturday. Dieckman-Meyer recorded eight strikeouts and surrendered just three base hits in the game.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league office. Dieckman-Meyer has now earned the award once in each of her four years at the College.
