The Foresters rebounded from a 4-0 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with an 8-2 triumph over Calvin College Friday night at The Dome in Rosemont.

After racking up 25 hits in their first two games of the year on Thursday, the Foresters managed just two against Oshkosh. Junior Shaye Gauthier belted a double in the first inning and senior Riley Frisbie singled in the last.

Junior Maddie Webb held the Titans to just one run in the first five innings before surrendering three on a bases-loaded double in the sixth.

Lake Forest's bats came alive early in the team's second game of the night. Senior Sydney Wyatt led off the bottom of the first inning with a walk and Gauthier followed with a base hit. After a sacrifice bunt by Webb advanced the runners, junior Hannah Kalnicky doubled them in.

Calvin tied the score with a pair of runs in the top of the third inning but the Foresters responded with four in the bottom of the frame. Webb led off with a single, Kalnicky walked, freshman Brie Gauthier doubled in one run and a base hit by junior Nicole Schussler plated two. Two batters later senior Haylee Sherlund completed the rally with a sacrifice fly.

A two-run single by Shaye Gauther in the fifth finished off the scoring and helped make a winner out of her sister Brie in her Forester pitching debut. She allowed just one earned run on four hits while striking out five batters without a walk in the contest.

Wyatt, Shaye Gauthier, Kalnicky, and junior Erin Karasewski each had two of Lake Forest's 11 hits in the game.

The Foresters are now 3-1 on the young season while Oshkosh improved to 3-0 and Calvin fell to 4-1.

Lake Forest will be in action again inside The Dome Saturday evening, taking on Buena Vista University at 5:00 and the University of Wisconsin-Stout at 7:00.
