The Midwest Conference announced the 2018 All-MWC Teams on Saturday and Lake Forest College had six honorees. The presentation of the awards was made at the conclusion of the MWC Tournament.
Forester sophomore pitcher Missy Dieckman-Meyer, junior centerfielder Maria Zepeda, and sophomore catcher Sydney Wyatt were First Team All-MWC honorees. Dieckman-Meyer was 6-1 during league play with a 1.49 earned run average, 49 strikeouts, and just eight walks in 51.2 innings pitched. Zepeda led Lake Forest regulars with a .404 batting average in 18 MWC contests with six doubles, two triples, and two home runs. She also scored 21 runs and drive in 16. Wyatt was an at-large selection to the first team after hitting.400 with three doubles, three home runs 14 runs scored and nine RBI in conference games. She also threw out four of six runners attempting to steal bases and added five more assists in 16 MWC games.
Lake Forest's Second Team All-MWC honorees were sophomore first baseman Riley Frisbie, freshman pitcher/first baseman Shaye Gauthier, and freshman shortstop Hannah Kalnicky. Frisbie, who missed time at the end of the season due to injury, batted .368 and drove in 10 runs in 11 league contests. Gauthier won all three of her starts and posted a 0.56 earned run average in 25 innings against conference opponents while batting .292 and driving in 11 runs. Kalnicky belted five home runs, hit .339, and matched Zepeda with a team-high 16 runs batted in 18 games against MWC foes.
The Foresters are 31-9 overall this season and claimed their fourth league title in the last five years with a 17-1 record in conference play.
