Lake Forest College softball players Sydney Wyatt and Missy Dieckman-Meyer were voted Midwest Conference Position Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, on Monday after helping the Foresters win all eight of their games in the last seven days.

The week began with a 7-1 Forester victory in game one of Wednesday's doubleheader at Beloit College. Wyatt singled in each of her three official at-bats, drew a walk, and scored twice before sitting out game two.

Dieckmen-Meyer's first appearance of the week came in Lake Forest's 3-2 triumph over visiting Cornell College in game one on Thursday. She pitched all seven innings, striking out a career-high nine batters and scattering seven base hits. Wyatt was 1-for-1 with a walk and a run scored at the plate and threw out a pair of would-be base stealers. She added two more hits, including a double, as well as one run scored and another driven in during a 7-0 victory in game two.

Lake Forest swept a doubleheader against Grinnell College in Janesville, Wisconsin, on Saturday. Dieckman-Meyer was in the circle for game one and struck out six batters while allowing six hits in the 4-1 victory. Wyatt was 2-for-2 with a double and a walk and scored one of the team's four runs. She made her one hit in game two count, breaking a 1-1 tie in the second inning by belting a grand slam to center.

The Foresters closed out the week with 10-2 and 7-4 wins over Knox College at home. Dieckman-Meyer fanned seven batters in four scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory in the opener. Wyatt hit a three-run homer in the second inning and scored another run in the fourth. With the 2018 MWC title already clinched, Wyatt sat out game two.

Wyatt batted .588 (10-for-17), slugged 1.118, and posted a .650 on-base percentage for the week. She also scored 10 runs, drove in eight, and did not commit an error in 43 chances in the field, including four assists. Dieckman-Meyer was 3-0 with a 1.17 earned run average and 22 strikeout in 18 innings of work.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information directors. Dieckman-Meyer also earned the award once last year.
