Foresters Earn 78 Academic All-Midwest Conference Honors
July 09, 2014The Midwest Conference announced its Academic All-MWC honorees for 2013-14 on Wednesday. Lake Forest College student-athletes tallied 78 selections, the most in school history, in 13 sports. -
Sam Ritsema Earns Final Forester Athlete of the Week Award of the Year

Foresters Fall in Heartbreaking Fashion in NCAA Regional Championship Round
May 11, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team had its season come to an end Sunday on a 3-2 loss at Illinois Wesleyan University, the nation's 10th-ranked team. Forester senior shortstop Sam Ritsema and pitcher Jenny McTague were named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament Team.

Back-to-Back Dramatic Victories Extend Foresters' Season
May 10, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team held on for a 7-6 victory over Fontbonne University and came back to win 3-2 against Anderson University in the NCAA Regional Tournament on Saturday. Forester freshman pitcher Jenny McTague earned a save against Fontbonne and the victory after hitting a walk-off single versus Anderson.

Lake Forest Leads the Way in MWC End-of-Season Awards
May 07, 2014The Midwest Conference released its all-conference softball teams on Wednesday and four Lake Forest College players made the list, including MWC South Division Pitcher of the Year Jenny McTague and Co-Positional Player of the Year Kayla Borgra. Forester teammates Sally Snarski and Sam Ritsema and Head Coach Joe Kinsella were also among the honorees.

Foresters Headed to Illinois Wesleyan for NCAA Regional Tournament
May 05, 2014After claiming the 2014 Midwest Conference Championship on Saturday, the Lake Forest College softball team will travel to Illinois Wesleyan University this weekend for the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament. The Foresters will take on Illinois Wesleyan in their first game Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Foresters Defeat St. Norbert, Capture MWC Championship
May 03, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team claim the seventh Midwest Conference championship in program history by defeating visiting St. Norbert College 3-0 on Saturday. The Foresters are now 26-8 this season and will advance to the NCAA Division III Tournament, which will begin next weekend.

Foresters Defeat Lawrence and St. Norbert on Day 1 of MWC Championship Tourney
May 02, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team posted an 8-0 five-inning victory over visiting Lawrence University and a 4-1 triumph against St. Norbert College on Friday, the first day of the 2014 Midwest Conference Championship Tournament. Forester pitchers Jessi Werner and Jenny McTague allowed just four base hits in the two games combined.

April 30, 2014Lake Forest College softball player Jenny McTague was named Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for the second time this season on Monday after going 3-1 with a 0.77 earned run average in the previous seven days.

Midwest Conference Championship Tournament Preview
April 30, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team won nine of 10 league games to finish atop the Midwest Conference South Division standings and earn the right to host the 2014 MWC Championship Tournament. The double-elimination event will begin with Friday's 10:00 a.m. game between St. Norbert College and Monmouth College and the Foresters will host Lawrence University at noon.

April 27, 2014The Forester softball team blanked visiting Grinnell College 11-0 and 21-0 on Sunday in a pair of 5-inning games. Lake Forest freshmen Jenny McTague and Audrey Haderlein each hit two home runs and combined for 14 RBI in game two.

April 26, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team split a doubleheader with visiting Cornell College on Saturday, falling 8-0 in the opener before taking the second game 9-1 in six innings. Sophomore Alex Hemmer's second-inning grand slam helped the Foresters pull away in game two.

April 22, 2014The Forester softball team was edged out 5-4 in the opener and 4-3 in 10 innings in game two of a doubleheader at the University of Chicago on Tuesday. Freshman rightfielder Tara Airola hit two of Lake Forest's four home runs on the day as the team matched the program record for round-trippers in a season.

Foresters Split with Wheaton, Reach 20 Wins
April 21, 2014After a 4-0 loss in the opener ended the Lake Forest College softball team's school record 13-game winning streak, the Foresters defeated Wheaton College 8-1 in game to for their 20th win of the season. Freshman pitcher Jenny McTague surrendered just a pair of base hits in the second game and is now 9-1 on the season.

April 13, 2014Behind home runs by senior Sam Ritsema and sophomores Sally Snarski, Alex Hemmer, and Vasi Panos, and another stellar pitching performance by sophomore Jessi Werner, the Lake Forest College softball team defeated St. Norbert College 15-2 on Sunday. The Foresters won all five of their Midwest Conference Classic games over the weekend.

Jessi Werner No-Hitter One of Two More Lake Forest Wins at MWC Classic
April 12, 2014Forester sophomore pitcher Jessi Werner did not allow a hit in Saturday's 8-0, 5-inning victory over Beloit College. Lake Forest also defeated Lawrence University 4-2 for the team's fourth victory in as many games at the MWC Classic in East Peoria, Illinois.

April 05, 2014The Lake Forest College softball team remained undefeated in Midwest Conference play by defeating visiting Knox College 13-0 in five innings and 9-1 in six on Saturday. Senior shortstop Sam Ritsema had five base hits, including three doubles, in the Foresters' first two home games of the year.
