Foresters Earn 68 Academic All-Midwest Conference Honors
July 17, 2013The Midwest Conference announced its Academic All-MWC honorees for 2012-13 on Wednesday. Lake Forest College student-athletes tallied 68 selections in 13 sports listed. -
Leiderman, Werner, and Borgra Named All-MWC South
May 09, 2013Lake Forest College softball players Whitney Leiderman and Jessi Werner were named Midwest Conference South Division Player and Co-Pitcher of the Year, respectively, on Thursday. Teammate Kayla Borgra also earned All-MWC South Division honors.

Foresters' Season Comes to an End in MWC Tournament
May 04, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team was defeated 3-2 in nine innings by Lawrence University and 8-5 by St. Norbert College on day one of the Midwest Conference Tournament on Saturday. The losses eliminated the Foresters from the double-elimination event. Sophomore center fielder Whitney Leiderman had two base hits in each game, including a pair of bunt singles against Lawrence.

Foresters Competing at Midwest Conference Tournament
May 03, 2013The 2013 Midwest Conference Softball Championship Tournament, hosted by St. Norbert College, was postponed a day and moved to Lawrence University. The Foresters fell 3-2 in nine innings in their first game of the double-elimination event. Lake Forest will play again at 3:00 against either St. Norbert or Cornell College.

Lake Forest Not Quite Able to Knock Off Nation's 21st-Ranked Team
April 28, 2013The Forester softball team was defeated 7-4 and 3-2 by visiting Carthage College, the nation's 21st-ranked team, at home on Sunday. Kristi Gandy drove in three of Lake Forest's six runs on the day, including two on her first career home run.

Foresters Sweep Grinnell, Finish 12-3 in Conference Play
April 27, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team won 18-0 in five innings and 5-2 in dramatic fashion Saturday at Grinnell College. Forester senior third baseman Aubrey Pendegraft had three hits in the opener and broke a 2-2 tie with a leadoff home run in the seventh inning of game two.

Lake Forest Edged Out Twice at Nation's 25th-Ranked Team
April 25, 2013The Forester softball team was defeated 3-2 and 8-3 at North Central College, the 25th-ranked team in the nation, on Thursday. Sophomore right fielder Kayla Borgra had a pair of base hits in each game and leads Lake Forest with a .423 batting average this season.

April 25, 2013Softball player Sam Ritsema was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday after helping her team win three of four games over the weekend to qualify for the four-team Midwest Conference Championship Tournament.

April 21, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team split a doubleheader with visiting Illinois College on Sunday, winning the opener 8-0 in six innings before falling 7-0 in game two. Forester freshman Jessi Werner struck out a season-high 10 batters during a three-hit shutout in game one.

April 13, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team defeated Lawrence University 19-3 in six innings before falling 4-2 to Carroll University on Saturday at the Midwest Conference Classic in East Peoria, Illinois. Sophomore center fielder Whitney Leiderman belted three of the Foresters' team record eight home runs against Lawrence.

Foresters Defeat St. Norbert and Ripon on Day 1 of MWC Classic
April 12, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team used stellar pitching and a pair of four-run innings on Friday to post a 4-1 victory over St. Norbert College and a 5-0 shutout of Ripon College. Freshman Alex Hemmer's first career home run helped the Foresters cap off a perfect opening day of the MWC Classic.

April 07, 2013A day after beginning Midwest Conference play with a doubleheader sweep of Cornell College, the Forester softball team repeated the feat at Knox College on Sunday. Freshman second baseman/pitcher Kaleigh Ambrose drove in seven runs and earned the victory in game two as Lake Forest won 6-3 and 13-5.

March 15, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team split a pair of games in Kissimmee, Florida, on Friday, falling 4-2 to Marietta College before defeating Fitchburg State University 6-1. Senior Molly Thomsen allowed just four hits in a complete game victory in the Foresters' second game of the day.

March 14, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team routed Skidmore College 11-1 in six innings before falling 8-7 to Millikin University on Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Forester junior shortstop Sam Ritsema had three base hits and scored twice in the win over Skidmore.

March 12, 2013The Lake Forest College softball team fell 3-2 to Mount Unoin College before defeating Sage Colleges 12-7 on Tuesday at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Florida. Forester sophomore left fielder Whitney Leiderman led off the victory over Sage with her second home run of the young season.
