In Merrell's three years with the program the Foresters are 29-21 overall and 15-2 in league play. They reached the championship match of all three MWC Tournaments during that span.

Merrell has also helped lead the Forester women's team to an 29-19 overall record, 15-2 mark in league play, and appearances in the championship match of the MWC Tournament in each the last three seasons.

An accomplished tennis player at Divine Savior Holy Angels School in Milwaukee, Merrell has continued to compete as an adult in leagues in the Chicago area.
