Jason Box

Jason Box was the head coach of the Forester men's tennis team during the 2011 season. He also directed the College women's tennis program during his year on staff. He accepted a similar position at Millsaps College in the summer of 2011.

Box led the 2011 Foresters to an 11-7 overall record and a 2-2 mark in Midwest Conference South Division play. Lake Forest went on to post the third-highest point total in the league at the MWC Singles and Doubles Tournaments. Sophomore John Adams captured a conference title at #2 singles and senior Jon Flaksman and freshman Ryan Kreis combined to claim the championship at #2 doubles. Forester players advanced to six finals at the conference tournament, including the championship match in five of the six singles tournaments.

Box came to Lake Forest from Bates College, where he was named 2010 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Northeast Region Assistant Coach of the Year for both the men and women. Box helped lead Bates to a 21-13 record over the last two seasons and coached the 2009 NCAA Division III champions in doubles as well as the national runner-up in singles.

While Lake Forest represents his first offical head coaching opportunity, Box was also the interim head men's tennis coach at Swarthmore College in the spring of 2008 after serving as an assistant the previous fall. He led the Garnet Tide to a 7-2 record in Centennial Conference play and to the semifinals of the conference tournament.

Box graduated from Sewanee: The University of the South in 2006 with a degree in anthropology. He was a two-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference honoree and captained the Tigers in 2006.
