Dan Lek

Dan Lek joined the Forester coaching staff in 2022 as an assistant with the women's and men's tennis programs.

The Lake Forest men posted an 11-9 overall record in 2022-23 and finished second in the Midwest Conference standings with a mark of 5-1 in league play during Lek's first year with the program. The Foresters were the runners-up at the MWC Tournament and Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk was named MWC Player of the Year after capturing a conference title at #1 singles. Six of his teammates earned Second Team All-MWC honors by reaching the finals at their respective positions in the lineup.

The Lake Forest women were 11-10 overall and also second in the MWC standings at 5-1 in the league. They too were the runners-up at the MWC Tournament and all six players in the lineup earned all-conference honors, including #2 singles champion Margaret Bugnacki.

Lek has served as a private tennis instructor in the Lake County area since 2009. His experience coaching includes time as a volunteer assistant for the women's team at Bradley University and as a volunteer assistant at Mundelein High School. 

Lek was the #1 singles player at Mundelein High School. He's also an active USTA league player competing on both a men's and mixed team. Recently those teams earned district and regional titles in 2021 and 2022.

A 2004 graduate of Bradley University, Lek currently manages a reporting and analytics team at Grainger within the Customer Strategy, Sales Operations, and Marketing organization, where he's been for the past 10 years. Prior he led a strategy and analytics team at Starcom MediaVest Group.

He resides in Gurnee with his wife Lorena and their two children Colin and Lana.
