The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 8-1 at Carthage College Friday night.
The Firebirds swept the doubles competition, although the Foresters kept things close at #1 and #3, falling 8-5 at both positions.
Members of the home team were also victorious at five of the six spots in the singles lineup. The lone point for the Foresters came at #1, where senior Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk took the first set 6-2 before needing a 7-4 tiebreaker triumph to win the second.
Carthage improved to 9-4 on the season while Lake Forest fell to 4-5.
The Foresters will look to even their record against visiting Principia College on Saturday. The match will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
