Foresters Close Out Spring Break Trip with Loss to Asbury

The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 7-2 by Asbury University on Friday in the final match of the Foresters' Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina.

Lake Forest started strong, taking two of three points in doubles. Senior Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and sophomore Daniel Tulchinakiy prevailed 8-3 at #1 while junior Eduardo Manuitt and sophomore Kyle Lassen came out on top 8-6 at #3.

Ealier this week Vyshyvanyuk and Tulchinskiy passed Dan Pivonka and John Snider for the most career victories in program history by a #1 doubles team. They are now at 24. Vyshyvanyuk also became the first Forester with 40 career wins atop the doubles lineup.

Lake Forest's 2-1 lead disappeared in singles competition as Asbury took all six matches.

The Foresters were 2-2 on the week and are now 4-4 this season. Asbury improved to 8-1.

Lake Forest will be in action again next Friday at Carthage College.
