The Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 at Wheaton College in its first match of the spring semester.
The Foresters scored the first point of the match when senior Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and sophomore Daniel Tulchinskiy finished off an 8-2 victory at #1 doubles. The Thunder took the other two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.
Vyshyvanyuk also prevailed 6-4, 6-1 atop the singles lineup and freshman George Ciuca added a 3-6, 6-3, (11-9) triumph at #3. Wheaton won at the other four singles positions.
Lake Forest fell to 0-2 for the 2022-23 season while the Thunder improved to 2-1.
The Foresters will play their first home match of the spring against Wartburg College Friday at 6:00 p.m. The contest will be played indoors at the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff.
