Foresters' Vyshyvanyuk Named MWC Player of the Year

Lake Forest College men's tennis player Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk was named Midwest Conference Player of the Year on Friday after finishing the season with a perfect record against league opponents.

In addition to his performance in the individual tournaments, Vyshyvanyuk was undefeated against conference foes throughout the regular season and last Friday's MWC Team Tournament, a total of 14 singles and doubles matches combined. He was 42-12 in all contests, matching the second-highest single season victory total in team history. In addition, he and freshman Daniel Tulchinskiy set a new program record with 17 triumphs at #1 doubles.

Vyshyvanyuk is now 41-6 in singles and 37-14 in doubles during his career.

The MWC Player of the Year Award is new this year and the recipient is selected by the league's head coaches.
