The Lake Forest College men's tennis team earned its first victory of the season Friday night, a 6-3 triumph at Elmhurst College.

The Foresters took two of the three doubles matches, beginning with an 8-0 blanking by sophomore Jacob Tilton and senior Brant Christensen at #3. After the Bluejays posted a victory at #2, sophomore Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk and senior Chase Garber finished off an 8-4 win over the top tandem from Elmhurst to put Lake Forest back on top.

Forester senior Oliver Gallego did not drop a game during his victory at #6 singles and Vyshyvanyuk routed his counterpart atop the lineup 6-0, 6-1 to keep the visitors in the lead. The clinching point came from Tilton at #4, where he dropped the first set 6-4 before prevailing by the same score in the second and third. Garber added another comeback win at #2, outlasting his opponent 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.

The match was Elmhurst's season opener while Lake Forest is now 1-2 on the year.

The next contest on the Foresters' schedule is their Midwest Conference North Division opener at Ripon College on April 14.
