Lake Forest Defeated by Eau Claire and Carthage

Freshman Oleksyi Vyshyvanyuk went 3-1 on Saturday but the Foresters fell 8-1 to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and 7-2 to host Carthage College at Life Sport Athletic Club in Racine, Wisconsin.

Vyshyvanyuk earned his team's only point against Eau Claire with a grueling 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, (13-11) victory over the Blugolds' top singles player.

With an 8-5 over the #1 doubles team from Carthage, Vyshyvanyuk and senior Chase Garber improved to 7-1 in dual matches this year. Vyshyvanyuk owns the same record in singles after prevailing over the best from the Red Men 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).

The Foresters are now 4-4 on the season while Eau Claire improved to 11-0 and Carthage to 6-4.

Lake Forest's next four matches will be played in Hilton Head, South Carolina, during Spring Break. The Foresters first opponent on the trip will be Millikin University and that contest will begin at 8:30 a.m. (EST) on Monday, March 9.
