Junior Chase Garber was victorious in singles and doubles but Lake Forest was defeated 6-2 by Lawrence University Friday in the semifinals of the 2019 Midwest Conference Tournament. The event is being played at Nielsen Tennis Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

Garber and sophomore Aidan Burke doubled up their counterparts at #2 doubles 8-4 but the Vikings took the points at #1 and #3.

Victories at the top two spots in the singles lineup pulled Lawrence to within a point of clinching the match. The final result was delayed by Garber's 6-4, 6-4 triumph at #4 but the the scores at #3 and #5, which finished at the same time, did not go Lake Forest's way and the match ended at that point.

The Foresters' finished the dual match portion of their 2019 schedule with a record of 12-10 while Lawrence advanced to the MWC Championship match against Grinnell College with a mark of 12-8.

The MWC Individual Singles and Doubles Tournaments will be played in Madison this weekend with the singles champions crowned on Saturday and the doubles on Sunday.
