Lake Forest College men's tennis player Nick Zazove was named Forester Athlete of the Week on Thursday for his performance in a pair of Midwest Conference matches in Iowa over the weekend.
Zazove, a sophomore, earned the team's only point in an 8-1 loss at Grinnell College, the 17th-ranked team in the region, on Saturday. He took the first set against the Pioneers' top singles player 6-2 and the second 7-5.
Lake Forest prevailed 7-2 at Cornell College on Sunday with Zazove victorious at #1 singles and doubles lineups. He and junior Matt Kacyn doubled up the Rams' top tandem 8-4 and he added a 6-3, 6-0 triumph in singles.
Zazove is now 12-4 in singles and 12-5 in doubles matches this spring. He remains undefeated against conference opponents in singles after six league matches.
Forester Athletes of the Week are selected by the Athletic Department on Thursdays. Zazove also earned the award once last season.
