Lake Forest College men's tennis player Nick Zazove was selected as the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in three Forester victories in league play over the weekend.

Zazove, a sophomore who plays at the top of Lake Forest's singles and doubles lineups, began the weekend by teaming up with junior Matt Kacyn on an 8-0 blanking of the top doubles team from Knox College Saturday night. He also defeated his counterpart in singles 6-0, 6-1. The Foresters took the match 9-0.

Lake Forest edged out Monmouth College 5-4 Sunday morning with Zazove and Kacyn doubling up their opponents in doubles 8-4 and the Foresters top singles player posting a convincing 6-2, 6-0 victory in singles.

The weekend ended with the Foresters sweeping Illinois College 9-0 and Zazove was once again dominant at the top of the lineup. After prevailing 8-1 with Kacyn in doubles, he knocked off one of the semifinalists at # singles in last year's MWC Individual Tournament 6-4, 6-0.

Zazove improved to 11-6 in singles and 12-5 in doubles this year.

MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sport information directors. Zazove also earned the award once as a freshman last season.
