Sophomore Nick Zazove did not drop a game at the top of the doubles and singles lineups as the Lake Forest College men's tennis team defeated visiting Ripon College at the Racine Tennis Club on Saturday.

Zazove and junior Matt Kacyn combined for a 6-0, 6-0 victory at #1 doubles and the score was the same at #2, where Forester freshman Brett O'Brien and junior Scott Drier prevailed. Freshmen Louis Payne and Brant Christensen added an 8-2 triumph at #3 to complete the doubles sweep.

Zazove, O'Brien, and Christensen took both sets 6-0 at #1, #2, and #6 singles, respectively. Lake Forest lost just one game at the other three spots in the lineup, Kacyn at #3, Drier at #4, and junior Joe Bove at #5.

It was the Midwest Conference opener for both teams. The Foresters improved to 5-6 overall while the Red Hawks fell to 0-9.

Lake Forest will play a pair of non-conference matches next Saturday, taking on host Illinois Institute of Technology at 9:00 in the morning and Principia at noon. The matches will be played at XS Athletic Club in Chicago.
