Freshman Brant Christensen was one of three Foresters to prevail in singles but the Lake Forest College men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by visiting Judson University Friday night.
Christensen did not drop a game in the first set and lost just one in the second at #6 singles. He is now 2-1 in singles play this season. Junior Scott Drier is also 2-1 in singles on the year after posting a 6-1, 7-6 (7-3) triumph at #3 against Judson. The home team also won the point at #2, which junior Matt Kacyn recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory for his fourth win in five singles matches in 2018.
The teams' split in singles came after the Eagles swept the three doubles matches, narrowly defeating the Foresters 8-6 at #1 and #3 and coming out on top of a more convincing 8-1 score at #2.
The loss dropped Lake Forest's record on the season to 3-2 while Judson improved to 9-3.
The Foresters will return to the Racquet Club of Lake Bluff on Saturday for a 6:00 match against Prairie State College.
