Lake Forest College men's tennis player Matt Kacyn was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in a pair of matches on Saturday.
Kacyn, a junior, teamed with sophomore Nick Zazove to earn the Foresters' only point in an 8-1 loss to host Carthage College. They doubled up the Red Men's #2 duo 8-4. Kacyn suffered his only defeat of the day in singles, where he was edged out 6-3, 3-6, (10-5) at the #3 spot in the lineup.
Lake Forest posted an 8-1 victory over Edgewood College in the afternoon. Kacyn and freshman Brett O'Brien played at the top of the singles lineup and defeated their counterparts from the Eagles 8-3. Appearing once again at #3 singles, Kacyn did not drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 triumph.
Kacyn leads the Foresters with a 7-1 record in singles and doubles combined this season.
