Seniors Ellis Lora-Arceo and Dragan Trivanovic were honored before their final career home match but the Forester men's tennis team was defeated 6-3 by Cornell College and 9-0 by Grinnell College on Sunday.

Lora-Arceo and sophomore Trevor Allen earned the home team's first point of the morning when they defeated the #2 doubles team from Cornell 8-5. The Rams took the other two doubles matches.

Trailing 2-1 going into singles play, the Foresters pulled ahead when freshman Nick Zazove prevailed 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 at #3 and sophomore Trevor Allen rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 triumph at #2. Unfortunately for Lake Forest, those would be the team's final victories of the day. Three-set wins at three of the other four spots in the singles allowed Cornell to take the match and improve to 12-10 overall and 3-1 in Midwest Conference play.

The Forester doubles teams combined to win 19 games against Grinnell but the visitors took all three matches. The Pioneers also swept the home team in singles with Allen's 7-6 (7-4), 6-4 loss at #2 and sophomore Joe Bove's 7-5, 6-4 defeat at #6 being the closest scores.

Lake Forest is now 10-10 overall and 3-2 in the MWC this season. Grinnell improved to 12-9 overall and 5-0 in the league.

The Foresters will continue their conference schedule in Wisconsin in two weekends. After playing at St. Norbert College on Saturday, April 22, the team will travel to Lawrence University and Ripon College the following day.
