Sophomore Trevor Allen went 4-0 and outscored opponents 40 games to seven on the day as the Lake Forest College men's tennis team posted a 7-2 victory at Monmouth College and a 9-0 shutout at Knox College on Sunday.

Allen and senior Ellis Lora-Arceo started the day with an 8-3 triumph over the #2 doubles team from Monmouth and the visitors led 2-1 going into singles play. Senior Dragan Trivanovic and junior Nick Rehm had already posted an 8-5 victory at #3.

Rehm was the first to finish in singles, defeating the Fighting Scots' #6 player 6-2, 6-1. Allen then won at #2 with the same set scores in reverse order. After the home team earned a point at #4, freshman Nick Zazove clinched the Forester victory with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at #3. Junior Dan Pivonka took both sets 6-2 at #1 and Trivanovic closed out the contest with a 6-7 (7-4), 6-2, 6-3 win at #5.

The match at Knox was moved indoors due to rain in the area. The Foresters' lineup was the same as in their first contest of the day and they swept the doubles play with Trivanovic and Rehm blanking their opponents 8-0, Allen and Lora-Arceo prevailing 8-1, and Pivonka and Zazove recording an 8-2 victory.

Trivanovic finished off his perfect 4-0 day with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Lora-Arceo took the first set 6-1 and Lake Forest clinched the match when his opponent was forced to retire in the second set. Rehm matched Trivanovic's score while Pivonka, Allen, and Zazove did not lose a game in their victories at the top three spots in the lineup.

The Foresters are now 10-8 overall and 3-0 in Midwest Conference play this season. Monmouth fell to 4-9 overall and 1-1 in the league and Knox's overall record dropped to 1-10 and league mark to 1-1.

Lake Forest will continue conference play at home next Saturday when the team hosts Cornell College at 9:00 in the morning and Grinnell College at 2:00 p.m.
