Lake Forest Falls Twice on Final Day of Spring Break Trip

Freshman Nick Zazove was at least partly responsible for both of the Foresters' points in a 7-2 loss to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Wednesday. Lake Forest was also defeated 9-0 by Amherst College, the 15th-ranked team in the nation.

In singles, Zazove won the first set 6-2 against La Crosse but was defeated 6-1 in the second. He then edged out his counterpart at the #3 position 11-9 in the third set supertiebreaker to earn the point for the Foresters. The Eagles, however, had already taken each of the other five singles matches.

La Crosse had also won two of the three doubles matches before Zazove and junior Dan Pivonka prevailed 8-4 at #1.

Lake Forest took on Amherst College, the 15th-ranked team in the nation, Wednesday evening and was swept in the contest.

The Foresters will return home from their Spring Break trip to Orlando, Florida, with a 7-7 overall record on the season. La Crosse improved to 10-4 and Amherst remained undefeated after eight matches on the year.

Lake Forest's next opponent will be Wheaton College at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 25.
