Lake Forest Falls to St. Scholastica, Sweeps McDaniel

Junior Nick Rehm went 3-0 on the day as the Forester men's tennis teams split a pair of matches in Orlando, Florida. After being edged out 5-4 by the College of St. Scholastica, Lake Forest posted a 9-0 victory over McDaniel College.

Rehm won both of his matches against St. Scholastica, beginning with an 8-3 triumph with senior Dragan Trivanovic at #3 doubles. The Foresters led the match 2-1 with sophomore Trevor Allen and freshman Nick Zazove also prevailing by the score of 8-6 at #2.

The Saints clinched the team victory by coming out on top in each of the first four singles matches to finish. Allen took the first set 6-3 and led 5-4 in the second when his opponents at #2 singles was forced to retire. Rehm closed out the contest with a 6-1, 6-4 win at #6.

St. Scholastica improved to 7-1 on the season.

The singles matches were played first in the match against McDaniel. Trivanovic was the first to finish after prevailing 6-0, 6-1 at #3. Freshman Charles Kleinmann posted a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #6 and Zazove won 6-1, 6-0 at #2. Rehm completed his perfect day with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph at #4, Forester sophomore Joe Bove did not lose a game at #5, and Allen's 6-1, 6-2 victory at the top of the lineup completed the singles sweep.

Trivanovic and Kleinmann came out on top of an 8-1 decision at #3 doubles, Bove and sophomore Dan Pivonka won 8-2 at #2, and Zazove teamed with senior Ellis Lora-Arceo closed out the match with an 8-5 victory at #1.

Lake Forest is now 7-4 on the year while McDaniel fell to 1-4.

The Foresters will play two more matches on Monday, taking on Berry College at 8:00 in the morning and Bethel University at 7:00 p.m.
