Dan Pivonka Named MWC Performer of the Week

Lake Forest College men's tennis player Dan Pivonka was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Tuesday for his performance in a pair of matches over the weekend.

Pivonka, a junior, won both of his matches in the Foresters' 5-4 loss to visiting Calvin College on Saturday. He and senior Ellis Lora-Arceo edged out their opponents 8-6 at #1 doubles and Pivonka added a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at the top spot in the singles lineup.

Lake Forest posted a convincing 9-0 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran College on Sunday and Pivonka was again victorious in both doubles and singles play. He and Lora-Arceo prevailed 8-1 in doubles and his 6-2, 6-3 win in singles finished off a 4-0 weekend.

Pivonka is now the Foresters' career leader in victories at #1 doubles with 31, surpassing the mark of 30 set by Alex Presman in 2009.
